Accounts pushing disinfo/misinfo about Iran vs. Israel appear to be crowding out the few credible sources remaining on Twitter/X. As @jsrailton puts it: "Twitter is awash with a flood tide of falsehoods tonight. Some is the work of people trying to farm revenue. And some is disinformation seeking to seed specific false perceptions."
in reply to Steve Herman

If this will finally cure journalists of thinking that they have to be on X because that is where the breaking news is, fine with me.

It's a shame no one predicted this is what would happen before Musk took this path... /sarcasm

@emmreef
And much, much more at stake this November.

This will be our first election in which a huge social media platform (Twitter) doesn't merely tolerate political disinformation, but actively encourages and amplifies it.

fwiw, really appreciate your toots here this evening.

What do YOU think is a falsehood, @w7voa? Because I've already corrected a number of yours. Your PROPAGANDA TECHNIQUES are OBSOLETE. Kapische?

PS. I dont think GOVERNMENT FUNDED AGENCIES should be ALLOWED on #SocialMedia at all, no less #Mastodon. Go away. Stick to BROADCASTING your disinformation on Shortwave... where you can't see us LAUGHING at you. @jsrailton

Time to block this American terrorist propaganda. Genocide enablers.

There have now been a few major world events that have underscored the need to be able to source valid and reliable information quickly online. Unlike years past, Twitter is no longer the place to go for accurate news. I can’t speak for other social media environments, because Mastodon is my jam, but I’ve been finding accurate news is shared quickly here by a number of accounts — including yours, @w7voa
Thank you.

I'm not there so I don't know what they're saying. Obviously, not truth but I don't know how you spin this

And some are sitting Republican members of Congress who don't remember the time when Presidents of *either* party had the full support of the opposite party's delegation on urgent foreign policy matters!

As Terrence McNally so elegantly put it, "Old people remember. That's our function ... to remember."

Right, because the Iranian regime is totally petrified of a diaper wearing, obese, compulsive lying lunatic.

Oh a garbage dump is full of garbage, nice journalism.
