I felt the same way about deciding to not use Facebook, and then Facebook repeatedly was caught violating privacy laws.
However, no one else seemed to care, and my feelings of being justified remained a personal quiet feeling.

I am guessing that people will continue using Windows and MS products no matter what, as long as it continues to be considered "the industry standard" (what they told me in college)
