I have moments of reservation when I get on a Boeing plane at this point. I can't imagine trusting my life with them getting me into space. Then again I think people are way too optimistic about the reliability of all manned spacecraft systems we've ever built, yes including the SpaceX capsule. Invariably we get into a sense of complacency until someone dies or nearly dies.

The one thing that gives me solace is that they have their own engineers to over these things with a fine tooth comb after delivery. They’ve never had a fatal accident, despite running thousands of flight a day, every day.

But that’s despite Boeing, not because of Boeing.
