From 2 years ago today.
Its so weird, when I was financially unstable before this new pay raise, I would spend more than I should then beat myself up for it. Now that I have a plan to get out of debt and no longer have to stress out about money, I have to remind myself I can afford to do something. Not being stressed about money makes impulse buying so much less a thing and impulse control is held in check. Maybe we need to stop blaming people for how they spend their money, and realize that people when put under stresses are less rational when it comes to spending creating a psychological trap they can't get out of. My spending habits have switch 180 degrees and I now have the head space and look back on financial behaviors that were terrible ideas, but the stress made them sound reasonable. Money truly can buy happiness, just up until your needs are met and you have enough to help others out too.
