Quite the mind fuck being an American Jew and descendant of Holocaust survivors right now, as nazis and republicans call Jewish protesters βantisemitic.β I donβt blame anyone for being confused by it all. Just know that your Jewish friends have been angry about it for a long time. And remember that anyone claiming to speak for all Jews probably isnβt.
We have long watched as the worst people use us as an excuse to enact their power fantasies. Please donβt believe them when they do.

As a lefty who's been against the settlements and general authoritarian side of Israel and who thinks Palestinians deserve a state, I was frankly shocked by anyone on the left defending the Oct 9 massacre. I didn't expect that to be ok with anyone -- anyone on the left, anyone with an ounce of humanity -- let alone be defended as necessary.
If we are somehow putting that aside, then I just don't understand the current demands.
