...with my luck I'll go through all the brain damage of switching back to Garmin, since there is no decent FOSS fitness tracking hardware, get everything wired up in a de-Googled Android OS (assuming Health services work at all there), and a week later Garmin will get bought by Apple or Google and I'll be equally fucked with all my data going to the same goddamn place. #rant #BigTechShouldNotExist #foss

Hi mate. I've seen your latest posts. You have the right to be pissed off ! If you find anything "decent" in FOSS hardware for sport, update me asap ! I've been using a banglejs2 for 2 years now :I can speak about it. It's not bad, but it's not good. Garmin watch with a cable to connect to the computer, and GoldenCheetah, no Garmin app. With this setup, you're off-grid (well there's the gps, but that's about it). I actually moved back to Garmin 2 weeks ago.

Golden Cheetah looked interesting especially for cyclists. I was writing my own FITS/TCX browsing app when someone suggested it. It may have been you. There are some self-hosted health data aggregator sites but they need a lot of work too. It's the hardware that is really hard to come by. Two site software I had in mind was FitTrackee and wger

I think there's also a gpxpod extension in Nextcloud. I didn't try it. I'm not sure of what it does.

Actually, it does quite a bit already oO ! https://github.com/julien-nc/gpxpod

Actually, I'll try the gpxpod, it looks interesting :).
Also, about goldencheetah, it does a lot for cyclists, but they added all I need as a runner, there's also stuff for swimmers (even produces a few scores, like SWOLF). There's a triathlon mode, it's pretty well done.

Does the forensic analysis features extend to running? That was the one gap I see on their website's features list.
in reply to Hank G ☑️

It does ! I'm not sure about gait analysis though. As I don't get this data from my devices, I didn't get to see this.

Oh good. Maybe I will experiment with it than write my own.
