Ah yes, the Benevolent White Savior, now formally and purposefully embedded into American public #education.

It's bad to teach kids the truth about #slavery and #racism, but good to teach them that even though that stuff kinda sorta maybe happened a long time ago, it was a good thing.

Another example of how elections on all levels matter, another example of how there should be federal education standards, and another example of just how comfortable the GOP is with white nationalism and racism.

VP Harris in Florida: "Come on — adults know what slavery really involved. It involved rape. It involved torture. It involved taking a baby from their mother. It involved some of the worst examples of depriving people of humanity in our world. How is it that anyone could suggest that in the midst of these atrocities, that there was any benefit to being subjected to this level of dehumanization?"
