I have a little bit more faith in the European members of G20, since some of them have indeed raised taxes on the richest in the past 10 years, and closed loopholes.

Not accusing any country of perfection, but there is movement in the right direction.

It's not as useless as it seems. It would take billions off triple digit billionaires, each year.

That's even if the hoard doesn't grow, or shrinks.

Though, I'm holding off on celebrating until I see that in operation, and taking money off the richest 10, too.

@justafrog the president's fiscal year 2025 budget request for the department of defense is almost $850 billion dollars. if they're spending anything less than double or triple that on global poverty and wellbeing, idk how you expect the global community to keep up with fixing the destruction left by that $850 billion in us defense budget.

During and post-WWII the top marginal rate was 91% in the USA. Rich people were still very rich. We're in a climate crisis that easily justifies at least that rate.
