Sen JD Vance departs home in Motorcade reports Forbes

in reply to Laffy

My county elected Obama in 2008 - it came down, basically, to district 1 in Ohio and we pulled out a win. We are the path to the Presidency, you don't get there without winning Ohio.
in reply to Laffy

Sherrod Brown is running for re-election and is pretty loved. There is hope as his opponent seemingly looks worse. He got cornered on abortion and tried to get out of it when we just approved a state-Constitution measure.
in reply to Old Man in the Shoe

@jenzi I think Sherrod can pull it off.

Not so sure about Tester in Montana though.

in reply to Laffy

@Laffy @Old Man in the Shoe Yeah Browns polls have him well in the lead, I can't find any poll on Tester sadly which worries me, but Montanas are weird and will vote blue at seemingly random times.
in reply to anubis2814

@anubis2814 @jenzi I saw a bad poll for Tester, but only one flew by. I haven't seen any others.

It's too early right now to use that one.

in reply to Old Man in the Shoe

@jenzi Ohio IS red. As long as DeWine is here we won’t change. We used to be purple, but the gerrymandered districts put a stop to that, as well as DeWine. We have a very long road to go!!
in reply to clane22

@clane22 That's what I was saying to @jenzi, that it IS red.

With blue moments.

in reply to Laffy

Do not trust anyone from the media that treats JD Vance as anything other than Putin's puppet.

in reply to Laffy

Vance was my guess. Massive yuck factor, so of course.
in reply to Laffy

Trump can’t abide someone else’s name taking up more space than his. Plus it makes it simpler to repurpose yard signs with a Sharpie and pocket the savings

@Mx_EddyNikko Any of them would get that reaction
in reply to Laffy

Oh fuck. Vance is the worst of them all.

We've REALLY got to win this one, people. Vance is Peter Thiel's guy and Peter Thiel is scary.

They all are but I think Vance is the scariest. He's not stupid and he's we'll-connected. I think he's the "like Trump, but competent" leader they've been looking for. @jawarajabbi
in reply to CaliCarol

Doesn't Thiel believe that "democracy is over"?

He can call his next memoir "Brokeback Democracy"
in reply to Laffy

Remind me again why he needs a new VP pick? 🤣
in reply to Laffy

He wore the hell out of those kneepads....
Media should ask him if he's a spitter or a swallower.
He might want to get premeasured for a rope necklace.
😐

It was to be expected. That guy auditioned reeeeally hard to become the next mini-me. No lie too small nor too ridiculous.
He’s no Pence, that’s for sure.
And I say this without a smidge of sarcasm
in reply to Laffy

Well, I’m signing off again. I decided to check the news after being off social media for an entire week, not looking at news sites, only local (wildfire alerts and such).
As I am thoroughly disgusted with what’s going on again, I’ll return to my abstinence. Never losing sight of who I’m voting for, of course.
I am un-swayable (yes, it’s a word)
Be safe!
in reply to KayVay

@KayVay
I've been largely staying away from the news ever since public mouthpieces took all the crazy pills post debate. I drop in now, and I'm leaving again. More outrage. Helpless people. When does everyone take to the streets especially after the Cannon decision?

Meanwhile, I'm going to cleanse myself with some cathartic John Wick. On repeat.

Hugs to everyone.

in reply to Laffy

Time for 24/7 ads consisting only of old clips of Vance talking about Trump?

@suedorazio @RodneyPetersonTalent that sounds far fetched for slavers who required that only white property owners be allowed a voice and count black people as less than human, committed and perpetrated genocides.
in reply to Suedioh77

@suedorazio @RodneyPetersonTalent their entire concept of politics was alien to modern systems of government and the society it serves.
in reply to Suedioh77

@suedorazio @RodneyPetersonTalent The founders were generally not fans of the notion of political parties in general. Arguably the structure of the US constitution is largely based on the presumption that individuals will be acting in their own interests (which would serve as a check against others’ interests), and not totally subsume themselves for party interests.
in reply to Michael Gemar

@michaelgemar @suedorazio @RodneyPetersonTalent Exactly. Our entire political landscape would look completely foreign to them. The constitution was not designed for this.
in reply to Suedioh77

@suedorazio @RodneyPetersonTalent or social media and that out right LIES would be so unchallenged especially by the loser sheep that believe anything fed to them.
in reply to Suedioh77

@suedorazio @RodneyPetersonTalent I can't imagine they could have predicted large scale disinformation or dark money, either.
in reply to Suedioh77

@suedorazio

I'm also pretty sure they weren't aware as per marge greene, trump is a founding father.... yep she said it.

@RodneyPetersonTalent @GottaLaff

in reply to Suedioh77

@suedorazio @RodneyPetersonTalent they did not expect political parties at all. They thought their would be fluid alliances based on changing issues.
in reply to Laffy

I told my sister 2 weeks ago that would choice...Trump's "central casting" pick.
in reply to atticus1956

@Atticus1956 Many of us chose him too. Because he's vile, a prerequisite
in reply to Laffy

Mine went for Vancouver. I would have preferred "vantz" and will see if I can make that happen.
