!Friendica Developers Thanks to the new Channels option you HAVE to be selecting the personal channel or the archive option is completely ignored and just posts the most recent stuff. We will need to make the channel automatically switch to personal when archive is selected..

@Tek Archives. When you pick a year and a month in your past or the new "On this day" option. Unless you are set to personal channel it will ignore your Archives request and just post the latest thing on your channels. Its right below the Groups section in the side bar.

@anubis2814 This is also due to the fact that the admin of the instance determines how old the posts of the self-created channels may be. The admin must specify this in hours and the higher the specification, the worse the performance of the channels and the greater the load on the system.
This is probably why the channels are not covered by the archive function.

@OldKid Yeah we may need to discuss this as a group about how this is supposed to work. Its a ton of new options I don't anyone understands the implications of yet. Very counter-intuitive for the user.

It would be possible, to not display the archive, when in channel mode.
in reply to Michael Vogel

@Michael Vogel Hmmm, I didn't realize you could turn off channel mode. Hiding it when in channel mode would mean people would have no idea its there unless they turn it off. I think just forcing it automatically into personal mode would be more intuitive and noticeable to the casual user. If a feature is hidden to the casual user its pretty much the same as not existing.
