If you hypothetically wanted to be a janitor. The respectable person who often ends up, cleaning up after grown adults who don't know how to be adults and leave messes everywhere... You'd still would need a bachelors degree!
Do I think that is a realistic requirement for cleaning up hallways and bathrooms? No, but good luck finding any job in 2023 not requiring you to have a degree.
So when someone says college is "optional" they're out of touch.
