Especially now that Etherium, the network many DAOs use moved to POS from POW and now don’t consume 10000x as much energy per unit of real work as traditional compute at least we don’t have the ecological catastrophe aspect. We “just” have the massive security issues, lack of knowledge leading to the space being full of con arts and scammers, that the supposed benefits of this over traditional registered corporate structure is built on it existing in some unregulated gray area (which makes it far easier for abuses and misuses), and that none of this changes any of the inherent structures whose problems you are trying to overcome by using this tech. It is just tech. It can at best be a tool for solving societal and human problems not the thing that does it automagically. So these pitched continue, people get bought into the next Silicon Valley billionaires’ gimmick for them to continue to gain ever more power and money, and nothing fucking changes. First step in reducing the over centralization of power is not cozying up to them and doing what they tell you is in your best interest when all objective observables of everything they are doing to this day is 100% the exact opposite. #BillionairesShouldNotExist
